What is the PADI Rescue Diver Course?
Challenging and rewarding best describes
the PADI Rescue Diver course. This course will expand your
knowledge and experience level. Rescue Divers learn to look
beyond themselves and consider the safety and well being of
other divers.
Although this course is challenging, it
is a rewarding way to build your confidence.
Rescue Diver training will prepare you
to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies.
Many divers say this is the best course they’ve ever taken.
You'll cover: What is required
for the course? You must be a PADI
Advanced Open Water Diver, or
equivalent with another training organisation.
You must be at least 12 years of age.
You must have completed a sanctioned
course in CPR (Primary Care) and basic first aid (Secondary
Care) within the last 24 months. If you do not have one of
these, you can do this course with us.
What to expect from the
course?
Once you have completed the home study
and knowledge reviews, the course is run over two weekends,
during the first weekend you will go through some theory and
learn some new skills in the pool.
During the second weekend, you will go
to a local dive site, either at the sea or in one of the inland
training lakes, depending on the weather.
You will develop further the skills
that you have been shown and practised in the pool, you will
then complete some rescue scenarios, putting everything you have
learnt into practise.
What Next?
Once you have been signed off as a PADI
Rescue Diver, you will be ready to take the challenge of the
Master Scuba Diver. This is the highest non-professional
qualification that PADI offers.
Or if you are interested in taking the
step into dive leadership, you will be interested in the PADI
Dive Master course. In this program you expand your dive
knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level. PADI
Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities,
qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist
instructors with student divers.
We run the DiveMaster course as an
internship, this means you will gain experience working along
side the instructors on a number of courses, from Open Water to
Rescue Diver.
